Our Practice Areas
Legal Trainning
We provide training on new Bills and new laws. We have provided trainning on the Economic Inclusion Act, Companies Act, Data Protection Act and on recent case law. We have so far provided trainning to more than 200 individuals.
Individuals
We have handled various works for individuals: the most prominent being the monumental case concerning the abolition of laws, banning homosexual laws in Botswana. We can handle Debt collection and family law disputes.
Personal Injury, Medical Law
We also have experience in litigating various medical negligence claims. We have knowledge of the law in this area and are competent to litigate and advise on the issues.
Medical Claims
We have acted for BONELA for a period of two years and during our mandate we dealt with various medical negligence claims. We have knowledge of the law in this area and are competent to litigate and advise on the issues.
Defamation Law
Overtime, we have gained our expertise through acting for main print and online media organisations. We have acted for other individual clients on defamation matters. We have considerable experience in this area. A member of our Team has received training from Media Defence and is also a member of the Digital Rights Network ( DRLN).
Property, Property Transfer, land and Planning Law
We have experience in land law and planning law. This is because we act for land authorities and licensing bodies which provide land related services. We also register property transfers.
Litigation
All our attorneys have experience in litigation and have litigated before all Botswana Courts, including the Court of Appeal. We have significant experience in trials and motions. Our philosophy of litigation is that when it is done, it must be rigorous defence of clients’ interest, it must be based on intensive legal research, we involve our clients and ensure that the process is properly managed in court.
Debt Collection & Recovery
We are experienced in both soft and hard debt collection methods. We have collected debt for banks and other corporate entities. We have a team of attorneys who have experience in litigation. We have both the capacity and expertise in this area.
Family Law And Estate Planning Law
We advise on marriage and marriage regimes, Antenuptial Agreements, Divorce, Child Maintenance and child custody. We have successfully represented many clients in this area. We both have the capacity and expertise in this area. We have experience in legal considerations of crafting wills and trusts. We are competent to advise and represent our clients in registration of Trusts matters. We have successfully registered the Thuto le Pono Boswa Trust and Pudulogong Trust.
Constitutional & Human Rights Law
We are competent to advise and represent our clients in constitutional law matters. We acted for in one of the landmark constitutional cases in Botswana that saw Section 164 of the Penal Code declared invalid by the Botswana High Court. We have experience in dealing with all types of litigation. We are the law firm that represented Letsweletse Motshidiemang v. Attorney General (LEGABIBO as amicus curiae) and succeeded in having the High Court overturn Section 164 of the Penal Code.
